When the death of their foster mother was investigated by NCIS: New Orleans, Danny (Christopher Meyer) and CJ (Dani Dare) Malloy were fortunate enough to avoid becoming a product of the system. NCIS: NOLA Medical Examiner, Dr. Loretta Wade (CCH Pounder) took the brothers into her home as foster children so the brothers would not be split up and is on the road to adopting the boys.

They are becoming a real part of her family and the NCIS: New Orleans family, as well.  Dwayne (Scott Bakula) already has made a hefty donation toward a college fund. But, what was supposed to be a family outing for Loretta and her sons turns into a nightmare for another family at a Crescent City Airshow.

After a primo demonstration by the Golden Aces, a slightly wan War Hero, Navy Lieutenant, Lindsay Garrett (Ellen Wroe), is wished well by her father, Marine Captain Tom Garrett (James MacDonald) as she preps to take a brand-new fighter jet up on a demonstration for the crowd.

When Garrett’s aircraft crashes in an explosion, the NCIS: New Orleans team must determine if the new jet should be pulled from global deployment, or if pilot error/illness/something more nefarious factored into the tragedy.

Since the aircraft landing system may have been overridden manually and Garrett did not seem to have attempted a course correction or an ejection before the crash, NOLA must investigate any possible reason that the flight did not operate as expected.

Was it an accident, suicide or murder?  CBS bills the episode’s plot turns as “twisted as the wreckage.”

NCIS: New Orleans also stars Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant and Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell.  Recurring guest star, Leslie Hope, returns as Secretary of the Navy, Sarah Porter.

Other guest stars on tonight’s episode, “Touched By The Sun,” are Chad Michael Collins, David Clayton Rogers, Sumalee Montano, Alec Rayme, Trey Burvant, Ash Taylor, Robert Larriviere, Odessa Sykes, Maria Soccor, Carly Plotkin and Harold Gene Franques.   “Touched By The Sun” was written by Co-Executive Producer, Laurie Arent and directed by Ed Ornelas.

NCIS: New Orleans airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

And congratulations to Lucas Black on ‘Bama’s win over Georgia on Saturday!
