Reign Spoilers: Will Mary Sentence a Man to Death in Order to Leave Francis?

by Shilo Adams / November 1, 2013

reignRather than biding her time waiting for Francis to love her, Mary decided to accept Prince Tomas’ proposal and earned the military support of Portugal as a result. Granted, the decision to leave Francis was motivated by the loss of the six companies of men who were sent to Scotland, but Mary long decided that she was not going to let herself be placed in the drawer, only to be pulled out when France needs Scotland’s support. As expected, though, getting untangled from the engagement proves to be a difficult thing and coming up on Reign, Mary will accordingly be put in an excruciatingly difficult position. Will she go as far as sentencing a man to death in order to end her engagement to Francis?

Listed below are the dates, titles, and descriptions of the next three episodes of Reign.

Thursday, November 7th – “Hearts and Minds”
Mary (Adelaide Kane) has to decide if she is willing to lie and sentence a man to death in order to have King Henry (Alan Van Sprang) let her out of her engagement to Prince Francis (Toby Regbo). Meanwhile, Francis and Bash (Torrance Coombs) are suspicious of Tomas’ (guest star Manolo Cardona) true intentions which will ultimately lead to a confrontation with disastrous results.

Thursday, November 14th – “A Chill in the Air”
When Olivia (guest star Yael Grobglas), who is an ex-lover of Francis’, arrives at the castle, she brings the dangers of the woods with her. Mary (Adelaide Kane) seeks comfort in Bash. Bash is threatened by heretics for interfering with a sacred blood rite. Meanwhile, Aylee (Jenessa Grant) is forced to spy on Mary when Queen Catherine (Megan Follows) blackmails her.

Thursday, November 21st – “Chosen”
An attempt to scare Mary causes Queen Catherine to take drastic measures to make sure the guilty party is caught. Francis. aware of Bash and Mary’s growing attraction, turns to Olivia. Bash ventures into the woods to pay his debt — the human sacrifice the pagans demand — and returns with blood on his hands. Meanwhile, Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) comes clean with the girls about her affair with the King, to a mixed response.

Reign airs Thursdays at 9:00 on The CW.

Why would Olivia show up at the castle? Will Aylee be able to turn the tables on Queen Catherine and get out from under her thumb? Who of the girls will be most opposed to Kenna’s affair with Henry?
