Supernatural Stars Richard Speight & Rob Benedict Launch Crowdfunding Campaign for a New Comedy Series

by Clarissa / March 26, 2015

For years, Supernatural guest stars Rob Benedict and Richard Speight, Jr. have been touring the Supernatural convention circuit and providing the fans with music and a lot of laughs. After appearing together in the comedy series “The Sidekick”, the pair have teamed up for Kings of Con and they’re asking fans for help in bringing this new series to life via an Indiegogo campaign.

Kings of Con is a single-camera comedy series that is inspired by Rob and Richard’s own experiences at conventions. They both play caricatures of themselves as they cavort through the con world: “Rich, a thrice divorced former actor who’s love of the game is fueled by the faux fame he experiences at the hands of a gaggle fans who still think he matters, and Rob, a recent divorcee back on the circuit to cover the costs of his failed marriage and stalled career.” The series is a combination of script and improv which will surely showcase these men’s signature brand of humor.

Launched just hours ago, the campaign already has reached over $30,000 of its $100,000 goal, because Supernatural fans are nothing if not supportive!

If you want to see more of Kings of Con, go support the campaign. The $100,000 mark will release the ten minute teaser, and allow them to get the first batch of episodes shot. The stretch goals for the campaign will unlock even more episodes.
