Tonight on The Vampire Diaries: Confronting the Past (Sneak Peek)by Emma Fraser / December 12, 2013
Part of Damon’s past was revealed on last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries and it linked into the recent Whitmore College mystery. Elena also found out that her father worked on the project during his time at Whitmore and she ended the episode strapped to a gurney next to someone who was also experimented on at the same time as Damon. Will their friends find out they are gone before it is too late?
It turns out that Aaron is a Whitmore and this is why Wes has been appointed his legal guardian. After what happened to him in the 1950s, Damon made it his revenge mission to kill every Whitmore in a generation except for one and Aaron is that one. In the flashbacks we met Enzo and Damon had to leave him to certain death when he escaped all of those years ago. Enzo didn’t die and he’s still a test patient and it’s quite likely that he is the Augustine vampire that killed Megan in the season 5 premiere. Damon will have to deal with this part of the past that he thought was long gone and conveniently a past he has never mentioned or even had some semblance of memory even when he visited Elena on this campus.
Damon spoke of how he thought Stefan would save him back then and even though this never came to pass, in the present Stefan will give it his best shot at getting both Elena and Damon safely out of Wes’ hands. Stefan has of course been dealing with his own problems and anxiety issues, but thanks to some intensive therapy from Caroline and Katherine he has confronted the root of the problem. Katherine used Stefan’s words to her post-suicide attempt to get him to face up to things and I’m pretty sure the super hot hookup also helped.
While Stefan goes to Damon and Elena’s aid, Katherine turns to Matt with her aging problem and as you can see in the sneak peek below she thinks that focusing on her fitness might help. Matt asks why she doesn’t just get turned into a vampire again and Katherine reminds us that her body rejects vampire blood. Katherine will come to realize that she has been going about this the wrong way and her daughter Nadia might be the key.
