Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, is becoming quite prolific at this TV thing. Deadline announced today that Kirkman’s third show, Outcast, has been greenlit by Cinemax who put in a 10-episode order for the Exorcism themed series.

Going from Zombies to Demons, Outcast  will star Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous) as Kyle Barnes, a man searching for the reason he has been possessed from birth and in the process uncovering a threat that could end life as we know it.

Outcast is based on the comic of the same name, created by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta. Horror director Adam Wingard directed the pilot episode.

Outcast the comic is a limited run of 6 issues, which Kirkman designed to have a clear ending. It is not known yet if Outcast the series also will have a built in expiration date, or if Kirkman and crew will leave the story open to subsequent seasons. Kirkman once noted that Outcast outsold The Walking Dead in early orders.

The Pilot has been filmed, but there is no release date as of yet.
